Uncategorized Thread Work By test Test 0 Comments Posted on February 13, 2025 Thread work is loved by everybody and also it is very important to use the colour combination of the saree colour thread in blouse work. The same twist and turn technique to be used for the chain stitch. All the methods and technique remains the same. Always use two strands of thread. Practise chain stitch for atleast 3-4 lines till you are used to the thread. Next practise the knot and move the the double chain stitch. Make sure there is no gap between the lines. To learn chain stitch check below. https://www.prisara.com/post/chain-stitch Once you practise chain stitch and double chain stitch try in in a waves and in shapes like circle, square and tear drop shape. Check the below link for more details and try the same in thread with two strands. Note to finish the edges neatly and sharply. Next practise zig-zag chain stitch. Give a small pull for each stitch. To learn zig zag chain stitch check the link. Once you are comfortable with chain stitches and have practised all the stitches based on chain stitch you are good to go with the stem Stitch. Put a long chain and the go towards the right side 3/4 of that long chain and pull it back towards the centre line to form a knot and then put a lock chain. Continue the same process to complete the stem Stitch in the right side. Same way put a long chain and go back 3/4 of that long chain towards the left side and pull it back towards the centre line to form a knot. Continue the same process to complete the stem Stitch on the left side. Final look of stem stitch on both sides is shown in below picture. Practice stem stitch well and then move to the feather Stitch. Draw three lines and start from the centre line. Next put a long chain little slanting on the right side as shown in picture. Next pull the chain back to the centre line to form a knot and put a lock chain. Next put a long chain a little slanting towards the left side and pull it back toward the centre line to form a knot and put a lock chain. Again continue the same process in the right side and then to the left side to complete the feather stitch or the fish bone stitch. The final look of the stitch is shown below. Next start with the satin filling stitch. Draw two lines and start with a small lock chain and then put a long chain touching the top line. Next pull that long chain back to the bottom line to form a knot and then put a lock chain. Continue again with a long chain touching the first line and pull it back to the bottom line to form a knot and put a lock chain. After completing the stitch finish it with chain stitch on both the sides for neat finishing. The final look of the stitch is shown in below picture. Things to remember Always use double strands in thread work. Keep the outer cover inside the hole for the thread number reference to shop for the next time. Always secure the thread with a celotape after using it. Use needle no 14 for thread work. Pull the thread slowly to for the knot.
