Aari embroidery Feather Stitch By Prisara@321123 0 Comments Posted on February 14, 2025 Feather stitch or the fish bone stitch or the leaf filling stitch is again one of the stitch used for filling the designs. Draw three lines and start from the centre line. Take the thread from below the fabric in the centre line. Next put a long chain towards the right side line in a slightly slanting position. Now pull the long chain back towards the centre line. The long chain should become a knot in the centre line. Now put a lock chain in the centre line. Next put a long chain towards the left side in the slanting position. Pull the long chain back to the center line forming a knot and put a lock chain. Continue the same process once on the right side and then on the left side. The final output of the stitch is shown in below picture. Maintain the same deisgnce between the slanting lines. Also make sure not to pull the thread tightly as the holes may look bigger. Maintain the straight line forrhe stitch to look uniform. Next try to apply this stitch in a leaf. Draw a small leaf shape and complete it with double chain stitch. Once you complete the double chain stitch start from the center and inside the loop of the double chain stitch. Now put a long chain stitch inside the loop of the inner line of double chain stitch and pull it back towards the centre to form a knot and put a lock chain. Next put a long chain towards the left side and inside the loop of the inner line. Pull the long chain back to the centre to form a knot and put a lock chain. Next put a long chain towards the right side and inside the loop of the outer chain. First it was on the inner chain and now it should be on the outer chain. Similarly put a long chain towards the left side and inside the loop of the outer line and pull it back towards the center to form a knot. Continue the same process once in right side and next in left side. Also once in the outer line and once in the inner line of the double chain stitch. Once you complete put a chain inside the leaf and put a knot. The final look of the leaf is below. Activity Try feather stitch in different shapes like heart, circle or anything of your choice and students can share the your work pictures in the group.
