Aari embroidery Stem Stitch By test Test 0 Comments Posted on February 13, 2025 Stem Stitch is the next basic stitch in aari embroidery afte the chain stitch. So far all the stitches we learnt are based on chain stitch concept likewise stem Stitch is the next basic where lot of stitches are based on it. Few of them are feather stitch, satin filling stitch, y stitch and so on. Draw a straight line. To start with stem Stitch put a long chain. Next adjust the length and put the next chain. Similarly now consider that long chain and go back 3/4 towards the right side. Now put a chain and start pulling the chain till it becomes a knot. Check the picture to know where the knot should be formed. It should be on the straight line and also it should be tight. Now consider this long chain for the next one. Next put a chain and go neck 3/4 of this long chain toward the right side and pull that chain to form a knot Continue the same process to do the stem Stitch on the right side. The final look of the stitch is below. Continue the same process in the left side to do the stem Stitch in left side. Put a long chain. Next put a chain and go back 3/4 of the previous chain towards the left side. Put a chain and pull the previous chain back to the straight line and put a chain stitch. When pulling the chain to the straight line that chain should become a knot. Continue the same for the next chain to complete the stitch. Check the below picture for the final look of the stem Stitch in left side. Beginners practise well atleast 2-3 lines on both the sides. Left side may be difficult for beginners but once you get the right side correctly then move torhe left side. Practise well as this is one of the important stitch and all the thread work loading are based on this technique. Once both right and left stem Stitch is practised well apply both the methods in a curve. Draw a curve and start with the stem Stitch on the right side and continue till the end of the first curve. Turn the direction to the left side when the curve is turned. And follow the same process of stem stitch in the left side. So apply both the stem stitches on the curve and practise well. The final look of both the stem stitch on the curve is shown in below picture. For video explaination in Tamil check below For video explaination in English check below Share:
