Y Box Stitch

This is a simple and easy stitch and can be used as border for neck line, sarees and lehangas.

Draw six lines as shown in picture.

Start with the fourth line and put a slanting chain stitch touching the third line.

Next put a long chain straight towards the first line and pull it back towards the third line and it becomes a knot.

Adjust the chain slanting and put a chain in the fourth line.

Continue the same process to complete the y stitch in straight line. You can also do it slanting like the y stitch.

Next same stitch has to be done on the opposite direction. When the long chain is pulled and once it becomes a knot the next chain stitch should be inside the previous chain to form a closed square or diamond.

Continue the process to complete the y Box stitch. If you find it difficult you can also turn the frame and complete the stitch. Once you complete the stith you can decorate it with kundan stones, beads, french knot, long french knot, fern stitch or with any of your own creative design.
