Instructions:

1. Prepare the Masala Paste:

- In a grinder, combine the coconut, fried gram, poppy seeds, coriander seeds, fennel seeds, cinnamon stick, and cloves. Grind into a fine paste.

- Add the tomatoes to the grinder and blend until smooth.


2. Start Cooking:

- Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds (kadugu) and urad dal. Allow them to splutter.


- Add finely chopped small onions and sauté until they turn translucent.



3. Add the Masala Paste:

- Now, add the masala paste from the grinder and sauté for a couple of minutes.



- Add a little water to achieve the desired consistency of the sambar.




4. Seasoning:

- Sprinkle salt, red chilli powder, and turmeric powder into the pan. Stir well to combine.
